Reason to Smile embossed

There was a card on Stampin Success magazine (only for demos) that won a card contest and it had Fifth Avenue Floral embossed like this and I thought I have to try it with an outline stamp and I thought I would try it with Reason to smile and I thought it was sort of cute.  The sentiment is from Lacy and Lovely. The Embossing powder the cardstock and the ink for the sentiment is tempting turquoise.
I can't seem to be able to find my embossing buddy but I thought it was still reasonably ok.

I am so loving this set- I was looking for a Thank you sentiment I could use for myself this year and I think this is going to be the one. I love its clean lines and elegant font.  I was dreaming of this card and it did kind of turn out how I imagined it.  Using versamark, emboss the lace images with white embossing powder on different CS colors- here I used all the new in-colors and heat it up then punch it out with coordinating circle punches.  I thought I would try it with Circle circus and maybe other color combos. It showcases all our great coordinating colors and matching punches. Easy demo card.  The sceon one is done for the color challenge at SCS CC385- Real Wonder Island.

Reason to Smile CAS180

A real CAS card I made for the splitcoast challenge CAS180 using Reason to Smile set and sentiment from Lacey and Lovely.                 Stamp with black StazOn, color with pink pirouette, pretty in pink and melon mambo, bashful blue, daffodil and pear, stamp sentiment with melon mambo, tie a ribbon and attach with a glue dot and easy peasy one layer card.  Thanks, splitcoast for your inspiration!

Reason to Smile and watercolor crayons

This set can be colored in so many ways- I did this one with bold bright watercolor crayons after stamping with StazOn black which is really easy. Use aquapen to blend it how ever you want.  The first one was the one with the SU statement of the heart but then some how I got some black gunk on my hands and it got on my colored image so I cut it down and stamped a different sentiment from Pursuit of Happiness set  using markers.  I thought we could probably do a whole background with this - just remember to keep your hands clean!

Moving Forward Post it note holder

Oops- forgot to write something on this post- After I cut the cardstock for the flip card I had all these pieces of 8 1/2x 3 1/2 cardstock. So I folded it 3 1/2  from one end and a smidgen less than an inch (as I recall) to make a 3x3 post-it note holder. 
Take a 3x3 white CS, stamp an image (I used this one because I had it out for the other project anyway), wrap the bakers twine and tape it down. Staple the bottom and I took some post it notes, peeled off a little stack and just stuck it in the inside.   Easiest hostess gift ever- all out of CS that I had cut to order anyway.

Moving Forward flip card

I wantd to make a flip card for my stamping party and I thought the moving forward set- Stampin' Up's Ronald McDonald House stampset for this year I thought would fit this bill.  I have a thing for dirigibles.  I just think this set is darling.  I cut off the sentiment on the bottom to use separately and just stamped the image using Calypso Coral then used the blender pen to remove the color from the propeller and the basket and used pacific blue and real red markers to add additional colors.  The clouds from Up up & away is stamped in Baja blue to match the 1/8 taffeta ribbon on the left.  I used a 4 1/4x 7 1/2 cardstock to score at 2 3/4 and 3 3/4.  Use the

2 3/4 line to line up the diecut (the center peaks line up with the score mark)  Put it in the big shot to cut but put the second cutting pad on top from the edge ot the card up to the first score line.  Then flip it over and diecut from the long side to the second score line so that the middle part is still attached.    Diecut 2 more pieces in whisper white and stamp your image of choice on the front and back. I also embossed a little message that hides behind the front when it i closed in turquoise and embossed the margins with the chevron EF.

  What little boy or girl would not love this card?

Summer Silhouette embossed

Another play with the Summer silhouette set resulted in this.  The base is pumpkin pie,with a layer of turquoise. I laid down 3- 1 1/2 inch strips of razzlebery that I stamped with versamark and then embossed with various embossing powders.  The blue flower was embossed with turquoise first then versamarked again and used pewter to emboss again to add the center detail so double embossed.  Too cool.  I wanted to add a sentiment but wanted to add a layer or ribbon and by punching out the turquoise with the word window punch, I

had another layer of white CS same size as the turquoise that I layered behind the turquoise with a little bit peeking through the bottom with the sentiment under the word window opening.  Then I used the word window opening to tie the ribbon as well.

I thought it was pretty dramatic.  I hope you like it.  Lynda

Summer Silhouette

The layout for the flowers were cased from the main stampin up catalogue (pae 83). Loved the color combo but did not have the DSP to use so I used Wisteria wonder to make the flowers on the lily of the nile looking flowertop and then used the same color cardstock, embossed with the Fancy Fan folder on one side as the base card.     Lucky Limeade for leaves and stem, pumpkin pie for the flower on the right and real red for the small starburst flowers.  The sentiment is from Made for you set stamped in real red.  I punched a hole in the white and green cardstock layer and tied the 1/8 taffeta ribbon through the hole to keep it secure and layered it onto the Wisteria CS and another easy card to make.

Summer Silhouetter One layer

What I find really fun is getting a stampset and taking a piece of paper and arranging it on the paper to see what kind of layouts I could get.  This was one layout I thought was pleasing.  I did it in rose red her but it is pretty in pool party as well as in Wisteria - but you should try your own combinations. 
Take a whisper white CS and stamp the border in crumbcake. Stamp the flowers in Rose red onto the CS. Stamp it on some post it notes as well and then cut it out to use as masks.  Stamp the leaves in Celery and stampe the sentiment from Made for you and the center stamens of the flowers in Early Expresso and your card is done. So easy......  Hardest part is making the masks- hate cutting!

Reason to smile

 I made this card for my make and take this month- It's on sale of $5 for every $50 order you place.  I made a bunch of different cards but I like this one the best.  So Cheery.  Stamped the sentiment from Pursuit of Happiness in black stazon onto daffodil CS. The daisy on a stem was stamped onto whisper white CS using stazon so I could color it using watercolor crayon.  I used daffodil and a bit of pretty in pink to color and used aquapainter to blend.  Since I use clear mount for my stamps it is easy to manipulate the stem to make it a little straighter at one time, then stick it back and curve it back to make it look like different images.  Butterfly is from Kindness matters - stamped it using the same ink pad onto pretty in pink CS and (sigh!) cut it out and mount with dimensional. 

The 14 inch stitched grosgrain ribbon in Daffodil is tied with the stay- put ribbon technique because I wanted it to cover the bottom of the white panel. I punched a hole on the cardstock where I wanted the knot, ran the ribbon around to the back, put both ends through the cardstock back to the front and with the ribbon ends straddling the ribbon, tie the knot to secure it and it will stay put!  Someone pointed out that this card did not use any bigshot paraphernalia. Oops! (I joked once that all my cards seem to have something using the bigshot.....)
