Flower shop thank you

Just a very easy and pretty thank you cards.  The base card is Pool Party with a Whisper white CS stamped into band using a houndstooth tape stamp in melon mambo then embossed part way with Houndstooth embossing folder to the stamped area. 

Or you can use a washi tape but then I would tape it AFTER embossing.  Stamp Thank you from Lots of Thanks set  (separated off the "for caring" for more versatility- why I LOVE cling mount- use them together or separate!)  - stamped the flowers from Flower shop in melon and pool party and mounted with dimensionals and one with vintage faceted buttons tied with  baker's twine...  Quick and easy thank you or whatever occasion card you may need.

Boyscout centerpiece

 My boys have been involved in Boy Scouts for years and now my husband is the den leader and when he does something he does it all out. 

They were charged with making centerpieces for a dinner and the boys in the den had to be involved in making it and of course Stampin' Up to the rescue!

My husband picked the colors- Night of navy and Summer Sun (retired) cardstocks and I used Designer Rosette Bigs XL die for the Bigshot to diecut and crease the cardstock.  The boys had to mountain and valley fold the cardstock and taper it closed with sticky strips and then help hold it while an adult hot glued the piece together. I downloaded some images of boyscout icons and printed it out on photo paper for them to cut out or punch using the circle punches.  The big ones used 2 strips taped together. 

The container is the nut container from costco painted gold inside by the boys, stuffed with a foam shape and stuffed with gold fold paper I had left over from a gift I received, cut using the fringe scissors to make strips. 

 Used some other printed star papers to add interest to the rosettes to coordinate.  The containers were wrapped with corrugated glitter paper I bought at a local craft store with the fleur-de-lis the symbol of boy scouts diecut (non SU) using a gold corrugated glitter paper.  Added the letters with the boyscout motto and Voila!.  Each kid made a big and a small rosette and helped put it together and I thought it looks spectacular!  Not bad for a home made recycled project, eh?

Stitched hearts Hello

 I was inspired by some cards shown by Shelly Gardner at Leadership 2014 at Houston to make some stitched hearts cards.  This is one of the cards I made.  The hearts were a little more tricky to stitch than stars because they are asymmetric and they kept shifting with the bottom feeds- so using a pointed tweezer to keep it straight helped.  The paper is Fresh Prints DSP  and Red and Silver Shimmer punched with small heart punch.

Actually it was much easier than I thought.  This came together in less than 10 minutes.
The sentiment is from the Six-Sided Sampler heat embossed with white embossing powder for a clean and simple hello card. 

I didn't want it bulky so I could mail it easily.

Easy peasy tiny gift

 I used a 2x 8 1/2 in piece of strawberry slush CS punched on both ends with the tag punch to make this so sweet a little gift.    Added some smarties with a gluedot to secure it.
The sentiment is form Perfect Pennants stamped with crumbcake.  A Very Vintage button tied with a Gold Baker's twine stuck on with a gluedot again and few strands clipped with a gold Clothespin.

Simply Celebrate Thank you variation

I saw a card by Jen C a concept artist for stampin up on their blog where she used the thank you sentiment on a diagonal .  I used the same idea to stamp the sentiment.  I did split the stamp so I could use it long or stacked.  I again stamped the leaf from secret garden- with a mask over the sentiment- and the flower from Morning Meadow in Pistaschio  punched and mounted with dimensional again- added a little gem in the center and mounted the whole thing on a coastal cabana basecard.  Really easy thank you but I love the soft colors.

Morning Meadow Pansy thank you

A little thank you for my customer orders this month.  I did one layer - stamped the leaves from Secret Garden in Pistachio onto base card.  Then stamped the flower from Morning Meadow (hostess) in Coastal cabana, pistachio and strawberry slush on scrap pieces of whisper white and punched out with the Pansy punch.  Thank you from Simply Celebrate (Occasion catalog) stamped in coastal cabana then diecut with the Banners Framelits die. Mount the flowers and the banner with dimensionals.  Tie the card with baker's twine (Lucky limeade- retired- it was only one I had that was close in color- you do with what you've got!)

This one I layered with coastal cabana to add a little extra color and I think I do like this more.....

I used the base of this card for my new picture for the stampingdoc on my blog page, I love it!

Burlap and Blooms Simply Created Wreath

  

 When I first saw this kit in the Occasion catalog, I thought "That's kind of cute" but when I actually SAW the weath at Leadership, I thought, "WOW, really CUTE!".  So, of course I had to try it and it was really easy and fun and some of the ideas from it I could take away to use for other cool things. 

The wreath is a cardboard form that you wrap with the burlap ribbon-  There is whole role to wrap it'  I just tucked it with some straight pins but you could use hot glue or some industrial tape.  The big petaled flowers were made from circles with a slit ( all diecut for you which made it super easy ) that I just put a dap of multomono liquid glue to make these gentle cones.  Layer then 3 around in layers until you get the full flower.  I used hot glue gun on some, dimensionals in others and they all wored fine.  Added a layer of gray- I did cut a fringe with my paper trimmers and then added a button on top with my glue dot and a really easy supercute flower.  They had 11 circles for each color flower. 

They also had these heavier cardstock pieces that had sticky strip on 2 ends.  You peel one and stick it together as shown on the middle piece and then pull the other sticky strip and start to roll the flower to make the puffy mum like flowers.   With the new fringe scissors these are something I could try duplicating as well.  Such cool ideas.... Use more than one strip to make a bigger flower- all you have to do is just stick it on!



This is another one that was hard to see from the picture but they had diecut 6 petal flowers is 3 different sized that you layer and then add the pompom flower to the top-  I punched a hole in the center to have the pompom sit in a bit but a beautiful flower nevertheless. 

The whole effect is so pretty and now I see how each flower was done, I will use the technique I learned from this to make many more wreaths in the future-     You have a beautiful project for a cost no more than a movie and a drink now a days- and it took me less time to complete than it took my DH to take the kids to the new Lego movie.  I think I got the better end of the deal.....

Quick bithday Money Holder

 My kids don't want gifts from us old fogies any more- they would rather have gift card or even better CASH.  It lets them spend their gift wherever they want it.  Same goes for their friends I guess but I really prefer to put SOME thought into the gift they receive so if I can't choose some gift for them then at least I can put some thought into the package they are going to get the money in.

This is the little folded envelope I have been using for a long time. 
I do love using the envelope punch board to punch out the little tab in the center of the inside ( a bit hard to see) rather than using a circle punch half way - so much more professional.

The stamp is retired Stampin' Up called Party Hearty that I just love and could not part with- anything that coordinates with their punches I try to keep!    The base card is real red with pacific point under a non- SU star paper.  The present is stamped in real red and punched out with circle punch and mounted with a dimensional.

This is what the inside looked like- there is pocket  at the top. I added an arrow of DSP (retired SU) and lettered for the name of my kid's friend cut with electronic cutter using pacific point again.  I added a little velcro closure to keep it closed for a really simple money envie which makes I hope the cash a little more persona..   Gish, kids these days.........

My Paper Pumpkin Card Contest Winner

At Leadership they had a "craft war" where eveyone got 20 minutes to make a card from the supplies they had - from Paper Pumpkins from the past and this is what I whipped up.  They said you can pick up your cards on Saturday but when I got there I could not find it in the bins but soon found out that I was one of the winners- So I earned 2 Paper Pumpkin kits from the past- and there is one that has a stamp that says Seriously- you kick booty and two other saying that I wanted but missed by a month (I signed up too late to get it) and now I can earn it.    I had so much fun doing this with no big shot- I think this is the first card in months that has no big shot on it- I love limited supply challenges..... It makes you think outside the box.

Stampin' Up Leadership 2014

I just got back from Stampin' Up Leadership.  I had gone previously and learned so much and had so much fun I knew I wanted to go back. Mercedes, my Stampin' Bestie and Stampin' Goddess, made the little bag tag made from Calypso Coral Celebration Add-On Kit and Silver Glimmer Paper with thick chipboard (that comes with 12x12 DSP ) sandwiched in between.    Is she not amazing?

 This was my first managers' reception and I hope first of many to come.  It was at the Downtown Aquarium and it was a-mazing!

They said light appetizers so many people had dinner before hand but my oh my- the last time I had appetizers this "light" it was Thanksgiving!

 Appetizers were scattered throughout the aquarium, bacon wrapped big plump prawns, tiny beef Wellington,  chicken skewers, sushi of all kinds, chocolate desserts, fruit tarts to name a few. They even had a  dessert buffet , potato bar,  fresh oysters, burger and lobster bar, and blue drinks made of pineapples and other exotic ingredients.

 These salmon rolls with creme fraich and a piece of chive wrapped around a fork was spectacular!

 There was a giant carved ice sculpture of Stampin' Up. 

 They even had a man in a scuba suit flipping the sign with 2 different messages on it swimming with the fishes.

We took the train ride through the outskirts of the aquarium and they had a circular tunnel with glass all around filled with sharks.  This is really my picture that I took from underbelly of the shark swimming over head.  Cool, eh?

 Then we headed on over to the stingray tank where you can pet the slimy creature up close and personal.   Sara Douglas was kind enough to pose for me and Mercedes. 

 And her mom and dad were in the bus with us so I had to ask for a photo op - are they not the most photogenic couple?

 But of course what is a Stampin' Up gathering without stamping?  Check this out.  The Monster Hugs valentine cards (only available until Jan 27th!) were used to make this oh-so-cute gift boxes.  The back of the monsters have a label and the cutest little tushy.  You don't want to cover that up.

 These were window shaker cards made from the On Film Framelits Dies and Deco Labels Collection Framelits with sentiments from Perfect Pennants.  The confetti were made using the Fringe Scissors.  Just leave it up to Stampin' Up to make such a great quality Fringe Scissors.  I bought one a few years back but it was not as sharp or heavy duty as Stampin' Up's.  They always deliver with the best quality product.


 They also had a booth with MDS products for parties and classes on how to make cards and 

 scrapbook pages and I have resolved to use it more- the program is so Intuitive, I think even I could do it! (and that says a lot)

They are planning to make photopolymer stamps in house and having bought some from other companies in past and having been disappointed, I am SO happy to report that Stampin' Up photopolymer is again Top notch.  Love Love Love them!

 There are so many kits to make stamping easy and fun not only for stampers but also for home dec, parties, gifts, Journaling.... I was really blown away when I saw for the first time clearly Stampin' Up's vision for their future.  They used the Calypso Coral Celebration Add-Onkit to make cards using sentiments from Simply Celebrate foir these easy cards/ gift cards.

 The Simply Created wreath kit is so cute and they demo'd more flowers using the fringe scissors.

 This is a bag of confetti made in bulk with the fringe scissors (ready to make those shaker cards I showed you before).

 The last night in Houston, we walked to find an ice skating rink in front of the convention center- considering that it was about 70 degrees, quite a surprise.

I thought this was a cool looking building so took a picture but I think it may have been the loo.

 The walkway around the rink had these cool Gargantuan Orbs hanging from the trees.  They really were as big, if not bigger than people. 

This was the dinner with my upline Tami Wadell at the Grove which was fantastic and she made these adorable gift packs with all the gold embellishments from the Occasion catalog- Wow!  Thanks, Tami! 

 After dinner the Orbs were lit up which was super cool.

Oh, what a fun time.   And the samples I showed you were just a few of gazillion pictures I took.

You know, I love being a doctor and the work that I do and my wonderful patients that makes my work meaningful but gosh I love being a demonstrator for Stampin' Up.  If only I can clone myself......
I can't wait for Convention now.......
