25 days of Chrsitmas- Day 21 - Sweets & Treats Tag/Card

I will so miss this set when it retires- I like the cloche die and window- I like the platform and all the sweet treats that come with it .  Everry Christmas we have Christmas pudding on a silver platform just like this - we get a piece of holly and turn out the light and pour some brandy and light it and it gives this blue light - so gorgeous. My Mother in law is English so goes without saying- Christmas crackers, Roast beef,  popovers, and Christmas pudding are musts.  It is usually so dense you can only eat a tablespoons worth but with hard butter (brandy and butter mixed - really delicious!).

Take the tag from Seasonal Labels Dies and emboss with the Merry melody 3D embossing folder, sponge some Balmy Blue ink to create a little contrast and attach a Wonderful Snowflake .

Stamp the cake, platform on a scrap with the sentiment from Christmas to Remember set -I stamped it using the stamparatus to repeat stamp and get a really good image. Color it in with soft seafoam for the platform, crumbcake, soft suede for the cake, poppy parade and granny apple gren .

Tie a Real Red Couble stitched satin ribbon with gold Simply Elegant trim.

You can use it as a tag or mount it on a Balmy Blue card to create a soft look as shown below (sorry could not rotate it back up) or on expresso then real red as shown to make a more dramatic card,

25 Days of Christmas- Day 20- easy tags for R & J Toffee

Every year I am texting Joel to figure out where they are selling their fantastic toffee. I have been giving this out for gifts for people at work for many years for Christmas.

I used the gold Simply Elegant Trim to loop across the top of the box then I tied a piece of red ribbonas shown.

The tag is made from white cardstock cut with a 2 1/2 inch circle Layered onto a circle dietcut with the circle laying dies. 

The wonderful thing about the  cling stamps is that because it is not mounted on a wood block you can cut it and manipulate it  I wanted it to fit around the curve of the circle so I kind of pushed the stamp and even cut the words apart to create the stamp words that goes around the circle as shown on the left..  

I had a lot of real red circles left over after I made my Christmas cards so that is what I put on the back.

color the snowman with real red markers and pumpkin pie nose and i used a little sponge dauber to apply some Coastal cabana to make the background snowy blue.

Now only 33 more to go....

 

25 Days of Christmas- day 19- sweet little gift bag from an envelope

Take an envelope- this is a Medium Vanilla Envelope from Stampin' Up.

Score the bottom and the sides however deep you need- here it was an inch on 3 sides.

I stamped candy cane in real red on the flap only as shown.

Pop out the sides as shown on the left on both sides.

Make the bottom flat as shown on the left

Youcan fold the corner triangle into the bottom as show on the left or up the side- it works either way- just secure it with glue dot or some tape.

Squeeze the sides as shown on the left to make the top of the bag more flat. It should look like the picture left below. Fill with treat of your choice. 

  Use a ribbon to tie a bow to close the envelope bag shut. Sweet little treatbag out of an ordinary envelope.

25 days of Christmas- day 18- Giving Gifts dies tags into cards

My December party has been Tags Bags and Boxes but there are a lot of people who prefer cards to other activities so I try to make tags that would easily convert into cards and here it is.

This is such a gorgeous die- I used the inset dies with Tailor Made Tags to cut out the tags with the gorgeous inset. put another cardstock tag to contrast and a beautiful tag. 

If you don't need a tag then put it on a contrasting cardbase with a 1/2 strip of cardstock with heartfelt wishes from the same name set stamped in real red.

Easy peasy Christmas card or tag.

The set has santa pulling sleigh and an ornament die and one with pumpkins for the fall if you need with some beautiful leaves and snowflake.

Line with gold and it is gorgeous.

You can make any tag into a cards- Use a different color base to suite your needs.

 

25 Days of Christmas- Day 17- Easy envelop hack

 

I have nephew and nieces and children of my friends who I adore and want to give them a little bit of money for christmas but want to put it in something a little nicer so this is an easy envelop hack I use.

I have some envelope dies but I want it to conserve paper and have it fit perfectly into the 12x 12 designer paper so this is what I came up with and it is almost as easy as using a die.

take a 12x12 DSP and cut it into 4 x 6 pieces- you will get 6 out of each 12x12 DSP.

 

Score the piece at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2 on the 6 inch side and at 1/2 inch across the bottom as shown.

Use a circle punch to punch a half circle across the top as shown to make easier to get the money out.

cut out the corner and the left side bottom as shown.

and put tape on the flap pieces  on the right as shown.

this is what it looks like and it took no more than it would to diecut this out and I used 2 12x12 DSP to make 12 envelopes with no left over paper and this is what it looked like- super cute and easy peasy.  for last minute money envelopes- but of course you can use this idea to make any size you need.

25 days of Christmas- Day 16 - easy gift box hack

My husband is always asking me at the last minute for a box for a gift card or something and I am always panicking looking for something.

This is an easy trick using so many beautiful christmas cards I get that I do not have the heart to recycle or throw away.  Take anycardand split it in half so it is equal in size.  score whatever you need- here I scored 3/4 inches on all 4 sides of both pieces of card to create what you see, cut side of the box at the corners as shown- I usually will cut horizontally on one side and vertically on the other cardpiece to reduce bulk when you assemble the box.  This card was one I got from Stampin' Up one year and it was so pretty so I kept it for just this purpose.  I did punch half rounds on the sides to make it easier to pull the box out.  Put tape or glue onto the 4 corners at the X to make the bottom piece. i then use the box bottom to put the top together so I know it will fit.  you may have to adjust it a little bit to make it fit.

 

Make sure to use a sturdy tape to put it together so it does not fall apart - Stampin' Seal + should do not the regular Stampin' Seal.

 Easy boxes that you can make any time using what you have on hand- You all must have so many beautiful Christmas cards you are hoarding- it's time to make something and give it away.

  If you have any writing on the inside cover it up with a piece of blank cardstock to fit the box or use some tissue paper- it is nice to get a gift card in a box instead of just a flat card, don't you think?

25 Days of Christmas - Day 15 - Christmas Trees Dies

 

I was debating about getting this set but I really do love the Christmas tree dies.  

Thick basic white CS base with a layer of Pool party CS embossed with Merry Melody EF.

Take a piece of Scalloped contours diecut in white and emboss the sentiment from Heartfelt Wishes set with silver embossing powder on top as shown.  Diecut the trees from the DSP- I used the All is Calm DSP (retired SU ) because I love the blue and silver combo for the Holidays.  Mount the white panel to the Balmy blue panel using dimensionals to pop up.

Wrap the Metallic mesh ribbon around the front as shown- Used the tape on the back side to attach it so the front needed no adhesive- the mesh is so fine it would be difficult to glue down-  then tape the whole thing down onto the base card.

25 Days of Christmas- Day 14- Christmas Seasn

I love pinecone stamps and dies- Had to have this one too-  Thick basic white CS for the base- now that we have it I would not use anything else- although the basic card stock is fantastic for stamping on- card base using regular cardstock feel too flimsy to me.

take another piece of basic white CS and emboss with Merry melody 3D embossing folder to add a little interest and texture to the background but only down to the last  1/ 1/2 inches so you can stamp the sentiment from the Heartfelt Wishes set - I just LOVE the font in script.

stamp the pinecone in soft suede and then early expresso and the leaves in Mossy meadow and the berries with poppy parade. I diecut 2 each and put it together as shown.  

I took a piece of  1 1/2 Metallic Mesh Ribbon- SOOOO gorgeous and shimmery- hard to appreciated here.  tied the center of it with the Silver Simply Elegant trim to make it more bow like and then adhered it under the cone as shown.

25 Days of Christmas- Day 13 - Inspiring Canopy spring variation

 

Inspiring Canopy dies have been so much fun to play with. this is a spring version of it.

Take a thick basic white CS and use blending brush with Balmy blue with a diecut from the Basic borders die - the cloud one to create a stencil - to create a soft sky look. I took a strip of  1 1/2 inch pear pizazz cardstock and used the ground die to split it in half to get two piece of ground - one used for top and another used for the bottom. sponged the edge a little to create a little shadow.  Glued the back ground piece - make sure keep it low enough to be hidden by the front piece- then mount the trees diecut from crumbcake CS. I diecut the leaves using pear pizazz cardstock and used old olive and and Mossy Meadow inkpad with a dauber to create shadows in the leaves. Mount some flat and others with dimensionals to pop up.  Add a strip of white white with the sentiment from Welcoming Woods and really an easy card but I think it looks fabulous - like you put so much effort into it....

25 Days of Christmas- day 12 - Inspired Canopy Autumn scene

 Basecard of Mossy Meadow and a panel of Soft Suede. Diecut the tree and several leaves panels in Basic White CS - color in the tree with crumbcake.

the leaves were colors using a variety of Stampin Blends using sort of stippling technique to create the variety of colors- pumpkin pie, cajun craze, flirty flamingo, old olive, mossy meadow, granny apple green. the little pieces that fell out of the leaves panel were just glued down on the bottom of the trees to look like leaves that fell.  The Hello Friend is from Welcoming Woods set onto a piece of 1/2 white strip and mounted with dimensionals.
