Sea Turtle watercolored

The stamparatus is being dropped by Stampin' Up due to an unfortunate reason and I will miss it terribly- I have played with Gel plates but one of the techniques I have enjoyed is dabbing the ink pad directly to the stamparatus plates  (because they are dye ink, it does not stain the plates) in several different colors- spray with a fine water mist, put down the watercolor cardstock and mist it again, and you get this beautiful color that is different each time.
Here I used bermuda bay  granny apple green and tahitian
let dry before using or use heat gun to speed up the proces..

Stamp the turtles in pool party, bermuda bay and Evening Evergreen. the starfish are stamped with calypso coral and Cajun coral.

The sentiment is from waves of Inspiration set.

stamped the coral looking thing on top of the watercolor paper in Shaded Spruce . mount the turtles with dimensionals as shown.

I stamped the turtle back with versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder to add some glaze look to the shell (hard to see but pretty cool looking)

enjoy!

Sweetest cherries

This was one of the cards from March Stampin' with Lynda. Base card is white thick cardstock.  place 2 strips of green stripe DSP from Flowers and more DSP.  use a thin strip of Shaded Spruce to add an accent stripe.  A white cardstock was embossed with basics EF embossint folder  to add some texture behind the cherries.  The cherries were punched out with real red, the stems from soft suede, the leaves from green apple green, Old Olive and Shaded Spruce- stamped with the leaf veins . the sweet was embossed with white embossing powder and diecut and the birthday wishes heat embossed with white embossing powder and fussy cut out. they were mounted with dimensionals.

These were some extra cards I made- used the stamparatus to stamp the words on the insde- with the ability to move the lid every inch increments it stamps in perfect intervals.

For a single layer card stamp the sentiment and one cherry and leaf stamp another cherry and leaf on a scrap and pucnh it out and mount it on for a simple one layer card using the same set.

try stamping a darker cherry or a Rainer cherry using more yellow orange colors.

Pinkfresh class

I just wanted to share with you some cards I made during an on line class I took with Pinkfresh  that my sister  signed me up as a gift.  She takes my monthly Stmpin' with Lynda Classes  and it was really fun to follow someone else's ideas instead of having to come up with something on my own- the mushroom stencils were so adorable.
I am going ot have to make some more to give away!

Learned some watercoloring technique that was fun.

The stickers were super fun but the cards felt flat and I had to add some texture with some Stampin Up embossing folders.  really love the Ombre glittery dots

this card above was supposed to be the scrap used to diecut the flowers but I thought it was so pretty I used it make a one layer card- used the thin nail Gold Self-Adhesive Tape Line Strips to make a line of gold around the card base that adds that little sparkle that I love.

Used the leftover around the center diecut and used it as a stencil with a blender brush to make the soft background. I didn't have any of their colors so I used the Stampin' Up ones instead and it was still gorgeous.

Motto for the year: borrowed from Marisa- Shop your Stash!
use what you have!

Share a milkshake gatefold explosion card

cards base is coastal cabana 5 1/2x 8 1/2 scored 2 1/8 on both sides to make a gatefold card.

-sweet talk DSP for the strawberry ice cream scoop
crumbcake was used with the cone die for the waffle cones
expresso ink and real red for the chocolate scoop and cherry  and diecut using the Share the Milkshake dies
I guess I should have added a sentiment tag on the front but I forgot to take a new picture with it

explosion mechanism is 4x8 inches scored at  2 and 6 inches along the 8 inch side -
you can get 4 pieces out of a 12x 12 DSP -
make a mark at 4 inch and fold diagonals from each corner to make 2 X score marks.
it is glued down in the back behind the diamond shape and each side  flush with the opening on either side as shown below

here i used Dandy Designs DSP (from sale-a-bration)
stamp hearts with polished pink inkpad and sentiment in black.

Such as simple fold but it makes such a cute impact I think I will make more of these cards using different stampset.  Try it for yourself.

Sweet Citrus cards

This set is so gorgeous- love the texture on the citrus that makes it so realistic.

The stamps are easy- do the outside first then stamp the inside - you can use 2 different colors to make the rind a different color than the peel.  it has a matching embossing folder and diecut that fits right inside the folder so it is done in one easy step.

I made the mistake of diecutting it first and trying to fit it and it was a bit of a disaster. diecutting it all together makes it SOOO easy!

the ink for the Grapefruit was pale papaya and Flirty flamingo

the leaves were inked in Granny Apple Green.

the white piece is from Salloped contours dies and the DSP is from Dandy Designs DSP

This just used the white basecard, piece of daffodil delight cut with the stitched rectangles and a white piece  embossed with the folder (forgeous on tis own as you can see).
same colors for the grapefruit  and I put the extra pieces on the inside.

Taco Fiesta four panel popup

this card ideas is from Dawn's stamping thoughts- love the pop up and I had to case it.

the base card is 4 1/2 x 11 cardstock scored in half fold to the left.
use strips of
celebrate eveything DSP
Basic borders die to make the zigzag border with pacific point
cardstock strips of crushed curry, granny apple green, pumpkin pie
to color in - need same colors and a red for all the different panels you want to color in. Stamp the pinata on a scrap piece of white and border with pumpkin pie
stamp the sentiment on a 1/2 inch strip of white and add with dimensionals.

mechanism is a strip 11 inches wide by 2 inches scored at 2 1/4, 5 1/2, and 8 1/4. fold it into a W and glue down the far left and far right panel onto the base card as shown. Glue one side down with the panels folded and then glue the other side down and close the card to make sure it fits.
you will need four- 2 1/4 inch square solid color cardstock for the accent squares for each of the 4 panels
you need four 2 inch square white pieces for the inside of the accent squares as shown below

stamp 4 different images onto each of the 4 2 inch squares and color in.

I cut  the chips and placed them around the guacamole and cut the bottom of the chip in a round pattern so it looks like it is stuck in the guacamole.

this is another case but I put it on the backgraound of the sweet citrus embossing folder to simulate the limes and I love it - just a little extra card I made with the set this month playing around
enjoy!

Easter Bunny Corner explosion card

February Stampin' wtih Lynda was all about explosion cards- they are so much fun.
Depending on how you fold it you can have the explosion on the right side, left side top of the portrait card or a landscape shape card as this one was.

use thinner white cardstock or designer paper for the explosion base so it folds easier.   I wanted the card to be A2 size so this is what it needs:
card base is 8 1/4 x 7 scored at 2 3/4 along each side
make a mark at 5 1/2 inch on each side to make a diagonal  (it's 2 3/4 " further in )  as shown above.  you can use this format for any size card.

I used the Dandy designs DSP for the inside panel and the outside panels.
I stamped the bunny and bunch of other images on a scrap - punched out the bunny and fussy cut the other items  to decorate- including the carrot for the inside.
Use the Blender brush and ink for sky- balmy blue or pool party would be good.
stamp the grass on the left upper panel ; granny apple green was used for the grass.

stampin blends I used to color : pale papaya, calypso coral, fresh freesia, granny apple green, petal pink

stamp the sentiment on panels diecut from rectangle stitched dies.

the square s on the right were 2 1/2 inch squares.

Petal Park Faux side and center step card.

The side step and center step cards are fun to make but cutting the center line or trhe sides and putting score lines all different was really confusing to a lot of people including me- so I just love this fun fold that requires none of the center cutting.

For this cardbase you need a 8 1/2 x 5 1/2" cardstock- basically a half sheet- hwere it was mango melody
-score along the 8 1/2 inch side at 3, 6 and 7 1/4".   Fold to create 2 mountains as shown.
Cut another piece of matching cardstock 6 x 2 7/8 but you can make it wider if you want and score along the 6 inch side at 4 1/4.
I put a layer of Dandy Design DSP on the middle panel as shown
 5 1/4 x  2 3/4.
stamp the leaves on t piece of white cardstock 4 x 2 3/4 (here with another strip of DSP on the bottom_ but you can make it 4 1/8x 2 3/4 if you want it to cover the whole front.
stamp the flowers on a sheet of scrap paper and punch it out and mount using dimensionals- I stamped it using Calypso coral and mango melody for the solid part
Stamp the sentiment on a scrap piece of piece

if youwant to mount it in the center it looks like this.

You just tape it in the front panel and on the back panel as shown and you can put it anywhere on the card- left middle or on the far right.

I punched extra flowers to put them on each side of the sentiment and the sentiment was mounted on diecut oval and scalloped oval dies.  Set some pearl jewesl in the center of the flowers to add some dimension.  So easy!

Thanks a Bunch

Is this not a super cute card?  When I saw this carrot set in Sale-a-bration it was on my first order- I just LOOOVE it- carrots in 3 different sizes-  I am sure you can tell I am also in love with this cane weave embossing folder since I am using it for absolutely everything!  Basecard is whisper white with a layer of another white embossed with the Cane Weave embossing folder.  Add 2 strips of Celebrate everything DSP (back of it has halloween images but the yellow stripes are so spring!) with the green DSP from Dandy Designer DSP from Sale-a-bration.

I stamped a bunch of carrots on a scrap piece of whisper white using so Saffron- stamped the accent then stamped the solid image after to layer it easily and although it is the same color it just works adding a subtle accent.  the reddish carrots are suing the poppy Parade.  The orange ones used Pumpkin pie with cajun craze as accent.  I don't have it here but Rich Razzleberry works for purple carrots too.

The leaves are using the Pear Pizazz for the solid leaves and the parsley like leaves are using Old Olive. It is not that difficult to cut out because the leave are big. layer them as shown.  Diceut the circle fom Stalish Shapes die and stamp the sentiment from the set in Old Olive.  Mount the carrots and the circle with dimensionals and add some fine sparkle adhesive gems and such a cute card!

Enjoy.

Dainty Flowers DSP

I have to say this is my all time favorite Sale-a-bration freebie EVER!  The paper is forgeous and I love the oval wreath sheets and the full size flower fields paper that you can cut into 6 images and make perfect layering for an A2 card.  geneous I tell you.
I had enough to give everyone in my class a piece of this to make the card.  The basecard is whisper white thick embossed with the new Cane Weave 3D embossing folder- totally Gorgeous! Add a layer of Fresh Freesia (taking the cue from the colors in the paper- totally easy) - then cut the piece of DSP into shape you want.  Here I was sending a birthday card to my mom so I used the sentiment from the old stampset In Bloom once of my all time favorite sets (retired) - would you believe with all the cards I make every year I still forget to send a card to my mom?  shame on me- but I did make it this year- she sent a picture of this card to the family showing that I sent her a card!)  but for class I used the Thinking of You from Season of Chic stamped on the diecut from the label die from Nature's print set.  Butr use whatever sentiment that works for you.

The paper is so gorgeous you need almost nothing else. The Cane Weave 3D die is absolutely beautiful.  Pop up the sentiment using the dimensionals.  Add some sparkle here and there with crystal jewels and a stunning card.....
