Happy Easter 6x6 paper baskets
My kids get way too much candy for Easter so I like to make little baskets for them. I have been eye-ing several little basket dies but you know what? I love this little simple basket made of 6x6 piece of paper. I took a 6x6 paper, scored it at 2 and 4 inches on both sides to make like a tic-tac-toe board then cut 1/2 strips in one direction on the 4 corner squares only and then bring them together in the pattern shown using some tape. I do find that I have to cut about 1/4 inch from the middle square that sticks out after I put the sides together. I then use a matching brad to hold it and a 1/2 inch coordinating piece of card stock handle together. This one I lined with a strip of the scallop ribbon punch first. It is really cute with a white flower punched with the brad through the center but it was too foo-foo and girly for my boys so I kept it simple. The little chocolate bunny did not make it into the picture but it fits the small Lindt chocolate bunnies perfectly (comes in a pack of 5). The creme eggs are miniatures not regular size and comes in packs or 12.
I love that this is such a simple basket but still has that woven look and feeling about it and it is such a great way to use up all your 12x12 or 6x6 DSP's that you have been hogging.....
Happy Easter!

Huh? You cut "1/2 strips on corners only"...do you mean 1/2 inch stripes..4 to each corner square? Sorry, I am confused and your little basket is so cute!
...I meant "strips"!
