Christmas Card 2019

This is the Christmas Card I made for 2019.  The base card was store bought- I got 2 different designs.  I stamped the tree from Perfectly Plaid set - I stamped the image in Garden Green, then stamped off behind it and again behind that to create the depth of trees.

The tree farm image is from Avery Elle but it was too big so I stamped it and colored it and used an old stampin up digital scrapbooking program (retired) to shrink it down then I had to cut all of it out by hand. I did put glitter and Snowfall Accents but it bubbled up the photopaper when I heated it up so I just stuck to the glitter with glue.
The inside of the card was made by folding the separate piece of whisper white cardstock - I handcut the top in a wavy pattern to create a hill. I also mounted a piece of Soft Sky cardstock (that I have been hoarding as it is retired) .
the middle fold was stamped with the sentiment from Greatest Part of Christmas Hostess set in real red.

The car die is from Tim Holtz' Home for the Holidays die set. I love the whimsical image but it was designed to be on a card and not 3D so I used a pencil to outline the car and part of the tree and wheels to create a base car that I could
mount the car, tree, presents and tires.

I took the picture of the family as if we are sitting in the car- and played with it until I could fit it inside the window-  yes, I did make a 100 of these.

The trees are from the same set and I diecut them out from a variety of different green cardstock.

I had been saving package plastic and I cut them into 1/4 inch strips and used them with gluedots to create the pop up.

you can find detailed instructions on how to make popup stage card here: https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/Popupstage/

I used Snowfall Accents with Dazzling diamonds sprinkled on top then heated with the glue gun to create snow in front of the car  (although hard to see here) but be careful the heat can make the plastic go wonky. I also put some snow on the trees on some of the cards.
we are at the tree farm and we are taking the tree home- get it?

This was what I had in mind when I saw this die and it came out close to what I imagined.

Happy Holidays!
