What's Cooking

This card colors were inspired by a card by Brian King- I liked the real red with the black checkers for the accent.

Take the heart and home doily and flip it to the white side and stamp the sentiment in black.  Diecut the cutting board in soft suede, spatula in red and the whisk in Gray Granite.  the rolling pin is diecut from crumbcake.   Using a black marker color in the handles and stamp sentiment on the rolling pin.  Mount using dimensionals for this easy adorable card.

Tulip thinking of you

I love tulips and this die makes making the flowers so easy.

take all the flower dies and arrange them close together to cut out all the pieces shown (here in red) the 3 top pieces make the flower on the right and each row of two make the flower to the right for total of 3 flowers out of one cutting. So easy!  Love the little bud on the bottom. It looks like it is upside down but it is so sweet.

The flowers were diecut using Flirty flamingo and I sponged the edge in real red as shown.

Diecut leaves and stems from Pear Pizazz and mount them on a piece of real red cardstock pierced using the Stitched Greenery Die.

Put a piece of white CS behind to make this section popup a bit. put apiece of Flowering Fields DSP under the white.
Take a strip of white and stamp sentiment from Inspired Thoughts stampset and mount with dimensionals.
I take the color cue from the colors in the DSP- so it just makes things so much easier when you are using the DSP as all the coordinating colors are already chosen and so perfect.

enjoy!

Blessings of Home and Honeybee Home Doily card

Is this not just gorgeou?
The base card is Highland Heather embossed with the hive 3D embossing folder. Love the doilies but not the colors so I flipped it and used he white side with the sentiment stamped on a circle piece of white cardstock and mounted on top.
I colored the flower from Blessings of home in black and colored it in using highland heather Daffodil Pale Papaya and Granny Apple green stampin' blends as shown.  diecut some extra pieces of leaves with daffodil and green apple green cardstock and insert behind the flowers.  Stamp the bee and color in - Use wink of stella to add a little shimmer to the wings.

add a knotted Fresh Freesia ribbon on the bottom of stems to add a little interest.

Seas the Day variations

This set from the spring catalog is so amazing- love the framed die with the seaweeds and corals already in the scene with bubbles- I have some similar frame dies from other companies but this is really my favorite and love the sea creatures and how they fit with the Whale Done set.

Diecut the frame from thick white cardstock and color in using Pool party, Calypso coral- for whatelse but the coral, old olive for the seaweed.  take a Bermuda bay cardstock and stamp the sentiments air bubbles, fish and more seaweed and coral as shown in Misty Moonlight.  Emboss with Bard 3D folder- it really creates the depths of water feeling- retiring this month!  if you stamp after embossing, you will not be able to stamp the fine details. Diecut some extra seaweed pieces in evening evergreen cardstock.

stamp a variety of fish crabs, starfish in coral, jellyfish on vellum cardstock using white embossing powder  and octopus in Blackberry bliss and diecut.

Arrange the sea creatures on the card and mount using dimensionals as shown

put extra creature on the inside of the card too.

the one on the left has the octopus hiding in the background.

I put the sentiment on the side instead on on the panel and put the jelly fish and turtle from Whale Done and from Seas the Day- similar size so they still work.
the card on left was using the faux torn paper technique using the same set- - tear a piece of  copy paper and pout the raw edge on top and bottom to create the window to stamp then stamp the jellyfish and the little fish in Blackberry bliss, the seahorses and coral in Coral, then the seaweed in Mossy meadow - stamp and restamp before reinking, then use blender brush to softly put the pool party ink on the background and an easy one layer card that is so beautiful.  Enjoy!

Flowering Tulips

I was rushing to make a birthday card for a friend and it came out a little messy  but I really like the tulip dies- base is thick white with a layer of scalloped contours in freesia with a layer of white on top stamped with sentiment from Peaceful Moments. Diecut the stems and leaves from Old olive and the flowers from Fresh freesia- I wanted to make a striped flower look but not sure how successful I was but it was fun putting the flowers together. tied the stems with black check ribbon to finish the look. Not sure it needed it but what the heck. Never miss an opportunity to embellish!
