Pretty Birds

Bonnie asked if we can do the Pretty birds card so this is what I made up.  base card is thick white.  Of course we had to use a layer of parakeet Party - how could we not use it given its name? then a layer of Flirty Flamingo.  then another layer of white with the left side perforated with the notebook die from Blossoming happiness dies that match the happiness abounds set.

stamped the birds in black and the flowers and leaves on a scrap piece of white and diecut them out. diecut the cage in silver foil and position the birds behind the cage.  stamp the sentiment in black. Color the flowers with flirty flamingo and leaves with parakeet party.  Mount the flower and leaves with dimensionals.

It has such lovely detail to the image and love the little seedling. Emboss Leaf Fall embossing folder onto the Granny Apple Green cardstock. stamp the sentiment on the corner that is not embossed. tie the linen thread 3 times around the card and tie a ribbon. mount the image circle with dimensionals and easy peasy card done.

Ladybug Bee and Happiness Abounds explosion card

this is a Gatefold card with aa bellyband so it could be a box card but surprise it is an explosion card. so simple. Score the 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch cardstock 2 1/8 from each end and make sure the center meets when folded.
take 2 pieces of white cardstock 5 1/4 x 1 7/8 and emboss with hive 3D embossing folder and mount on either side on the front.
make belly band from 1x 9 inch DSP and attach the flower from happiness abounds colored in with polished pink and a strip of cardstock with sentiment stamped.
make sure to put the seam of the belly band behind the flower and mount flower with dimensional.

take a piece of 8x 4 inch of DSP and score at 2 and 6 inches. fold each corner to create the triangle fold on all 4 sides and glue down the end triangles that is abutting the front gate fold

you can find a tutorial for a explosion card at Dawn Griffith website : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=305UqxPhIJA

my favorite thing is this bee - is it not the cutest?

Punch a black and a daffodil cardstock using ladybug punch.  cut the daffodil piece into strips and glue it down on the black cardstock as shown.  it should end with the daffodil piece on the tail.  Cut the tail from the last black stripe to the middle of the back on both left and right side to make a sharper pointed butt . punch the wings from vellum cardstock and mount with dimensionals.

the flowers were stamped with polished pink stamped off to create a softer flower look.

Happiness Abounds Box card

I love the color combination of Fresh freesia with black and white.  We did the father's day box car and I did one for a friend's birthday with happiness abounds set.   this DSP is retired hostess pack from last year that I really like. Color the flower using fresh freesia and blackberry bliss and leaves with Parakeet party.  Happy Birthday sentiment from Paradise Palms set

stamp the sentiment in the center of the inside panel before mounting it in the box.  Stamp a flower and leaves on a scrap piece of cardstock and diecut and color and adhere on the inside to add some interest. such a fun card- love that it opens to a box with dimension.
you can find how to  on line : here is a great example by Dawn Griffith

Let's set sail variations

I have to love my friends - I told myself I already had other boat stamp and seascapes I was not going to buy this boat then I saw some samples Margery made and totally lost it - thought if I gave up lunch for 2 days i could get this and now I Love it!

the card to the left was what we made in class. I diecut the circle using the circle die and then used the oceanfront set to color in the water and sky. stamped the sentiment and the seagulls and stamped the boat on scrap pieces of paper and mounted it - so simple but would be a great for any guy.

This is the same card using softer colors for the sails - I just stamped a bunch of them and punched them out so i could play with different colors.

the one below was a SLC  that I demonstrated for the class to show how easy it was to make a single layer card and how good it can look.

the first card was a little more involved. stamp Rays of light in daffodil.  I had a bunch of left over scallop negatives after I diecut Scalloped contours for another project so I used it to make the waves- stamped the water stamp onto the scallops - diecut a bunch of clouds from Give it a Whirl dieset and mount with dimensionals. Stamp seagulls onto Tahitian Tide. stamp the sentiment in navy and all good.

Enjoy!   Lynda

Crafter's companion flower card

My sister sent me a bunch of stuff and there was this pack of cardstock printed with these gorgeous flowers - I did not have the die but it only took 10 minutes to cut the whole page out to make the 3D layered flower element while I was watching the news- the new was so depressing that I did not even pay attention and made it easy to get this done.

I did diecut a bunch of rectangle using the stitched rectangle die all lined up with the pumkin cardstock  to make a bunch of rectangles in different sizes for this layered flower and it all works- i gave away the other samples so I only have this one to show you but it is stunning.  Sentiment form Stampin' Up  Nature's Prints set on a tailor made tag diecut. tie a gray granite ribbon with linen thread and mount with gluedot.

Amazing Year variations

When I saw this stamp set I knew I wanted to do a bouquet wrapped in paper - the card was exactly the way I had it in my head.  the paper wrap was a cool die that came from a retired set called Wrapped Bouquet that makes a wrap around the bouquet - used an old stamping up newsprint DSP tied with linen thread and attached the tag as shown.  Fussy cut the flowers and mount with dimesnionasl.  the base card is thick white ( I can't stand flimsy basecard) with a lyare of so saffron embossed with Thanks & Hello embossing folder just on the bottom half.

This card was one we did in Stampin' with Lynda class in Ukrainian colors.

Diecut a circle in the center, emboss with Stitched Greenery die, fussy cut amazing year color in and fussy cut. tie Tahitian Tide bakers twine around the stem and attach the tag close using dimensionals as if it is attached.

This card was made with thick white base and another layer of white embossed with Fern 3D embossing folder. Wrap with Metallic Mesh before putting in on. layer of circle diecut with Stylish Shapes.

stamp bouquet in tuxedo black memento and color in with stampin' blends- here we used flirty flamingo and granny apple green but you can use whatever color you want and it will work.   I kept the tag on the bouquet to keep it easy.  Enjoy!  Lynda
