Christmas Card 2019

This is the Christmas Card I made for 2019.  The base card was store bought- I got 2 different designs.  I stamped the tree from Perfectly Plaid set - I stamped the image in Garden Green, then stamped off behind it and again behind that to create the depth of trees.

The tree farm image is from Avery Elle but it was too big so I stamped it and colored it and used an old stampin up digital scrapbooking program (retired) to shrink it down then I had to cut all of it out by hand. I did put glitter and Snowfall Accents but it bubbled up the photopaper when I heated it up so I just stuck to the glitter with glue.
The inside of the card was made by folding the separate piece of whisper white cardstock - I handcut the top in a wavy pattern to create a hill. I also mounted a piece of Soft Sky cardstock (that I have been hoarding as it is retired) .
the middle fold was stamped with the sentiment from Greatest Part of Christmas Hostess set in real red.

The car die is from Tim Holtz' Home for the Holidays die set. I love the whimsical image but it was designed to be on a card and not 3D so I used a pencil to outline the car and part of the tree and wheels to create a base car that I could
mount the car, tree, presents and tires.

I took the picture of the family as if we are sitting in the car- and played with it until I could fit it inside the window-  yes, I did make a 100 of these.

The trees are from the same set and I diecut them out from a variety of different green cardstock.

I had been saving package plastic and I cut them into 1/4 inch strips and used them with gluedots to create the pop up.

you can find detailed instructions on how to make popup stage card here: https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/Popupstage/

I used Snowfall Accents with Dazzling diamonds sprinkled on top then heated with the glue gun to create snow in front of the car  (although hard to see here) but be careful the heat can make the plastic go wonky. I also put some snow on the trees on some of the cards.
we are at the tree farm and we are taking the tree home- get it?

This was what I had in mind when I saw this die and it came out close to what I imagined.

Happy Holidays!

Christmas Gift ideas

We have a Christmas party where we make things to exchange and this was one by Gayle - a wooden wreath wrapped with moss and a variety of succulents attached - all you have to do is mist it regularly  Gorgeous!
This is a basket made using rolled up ribbons filled with candy - adorable!

Marisa homemade all these cookies including the homemade Oreo ! although I have to say I did not get to taste any of these cookies as they were completely devoured by my family ...

I also got the best present ever- a whole pack of diecut boxes and bags to use throughout the year - totally useful!

This is a bag wrapped in ribbon filled with treats
These are things we made previous years:
die cut box using christmas cardstock.
Little paperbag decorated with DSP, filled with treats, tied with ribbon and a tag
scallop the edge of the bad with the scallop punch (retired)
This is the fancy bag diecut and decorated with holiday images.

bag made using the bagmaker and diecut window with the ornament die- line with a clear plastic to keep the candy in-

this was a box which was part of the advent calendar kit a few years ago- i was giving them out separately and it was so cute.
this is the curvy keepsake box made into a santa outfit that I got from one of my friends
you make a coordinating box that fits the base and glue it in.
so lots of little gift and treat ideas for you to make for your friends and loved ones....

Perfect Santa Parcel

This was one of the projects from my Tags Bags and Boxes workshop for the holidays.

Cut 2 pieces using the perfect parcels box die and put it together
How to here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-wEqbWF9T0

add a 1/2 inch strip of white on one side only.
Add a strip of 3/4 inch black paper band.

I did not have a die that would cut the belt buckle but I did have a 3/4 inch square punch so I cut strips of gold foil paper 1 1/4 inch wide then turned it around and marked it every 1 1/4 inches  with a ruler then from corner to corner I put an x to get it centered then punched it out.
I love the how it can be laid flat for packing - I made a gazillion of these for my favors for my staff and friends. It will hold a gift card as well so you can add some candy and a gift card or some money- it is super cute, super easy once you get the hang of how to glue to box bottom.

The base card is real red with a strip of DSP on the right. Take Pear Pizazz and emboss with Winter Knit 3D EF.  Take the Stitched Shapes circle die and stamp the Snowman Season in tuxedo black memento and color in using Stampin' Blends as shown.

Take a strip of Gray Granite and diecut using Stitched Nested Labels. Stamp the sentiment with Versamark and heat emboss with white embossing powder  and mount with dimensionasl.

Then the best part- use Snowfall Accents puff paint and heat it up to make snowballs falling.
it just makes the card.
I bought 3 bottles thinking I was going to use it for my christmas cards and I am barely part way through the first bottle!  You really need a tiny dot of it. Love this stuff.

Very Versaille CAS card

This was one of my Just Stamping cards we made for one of my parties.  Base is Granny Apple. A layer of whisper white with the leaves stamped in Granny Apple and some Old olive marker accents.  The Sentiment was in Granite.

I cut off the Always from the thinking of you- you can do that with the unmounted stamps- so versatile!

I stamped it with versamark and heat embossed it with white EP onto black.

This card was inspired by a card I made using the Notes of Kindness Card Kit which I also
love.  The hanging eucalyptus leaves and the black blocked sentiment I lifted.  Still love my card!

Happy Halloween!

I have a lot of staff and I like to

make them a treat for each holiday- Stampin' Up Paper Pumpkin saved my skin this year with this cute little box and tag set- it made 20 which I am sure would be plenty for many but I have another 1/2 dozen to make so I had to pull out some of my projects from past - the pumpkin curved keepsake boxes, the candy box we make, some other box dies cut out using Halloween papers.
The halloween boxes were such a great size, did not need anything to keep it closed, you can open it without destroying the box and could lay flat after your are done- I am hoping that they will come out with a die for this box which I think I would love to use for other projects..  hint hint stampin' up!

I also love a bag die that cuts all in one piece instead of putting 2 pieces together like the new tiny curvy keepsake box that I am ordering. Can't wait to get it.
Bone Appetit!
