Stampin' Around- unmounting

I did this post a while ago and forgot to post it- I have a sample to show you to follow so here it is:

The Friendly Words wheel is ripe for unmounting. I have heard of people unmounting the wheel in the past but I really like wheeling big sheets of paper using the stampin' around ink instead of doing short runs the way we do with cards so I have always resisted UNTIL NOW- at least with this wheel.

The words are so beautiful and I wanted to be able to accent a section of it. so yes. I am crazy but I bought another wheel just to unmount- so I got something like 14 little stamps out of that one wheel which is still a bargain and you waste one little word- Confidant- that overlapped with another image. The hardest part was trying to figure out how to cut it- sharp scissors worked well for me but be forewarned- some words were a little tight cutting. This is the sentiment I used on the 3/30/09 post on the Manhatten Flowers Embossing Folder Card sample #1.

I am just praying that Stampin' Up will come out with clingmounted stamp options as many other companies do, in the future- it will save wood and shipping- and me having to mount it. Even if they cost the same, it will save so much space for those of us space challenged stampers, hint hint......

I just saw some stamps being sold at Cranberry Hill Merchantile in Sunnyvale, CA by Darcies in the larger DVD cases in clingmount the way I have been storing my larger stampsets so maybe somebody is listening!

A Kind Word

I thought I posted this already but guess I hadn't. It's A Kind Word stampset from Stampin' Up. I loved to watercolor and I recently got into copics as well and I love the vibrancy of color and nice gradations you cna get. It's pink pirouette CS, textured with one of the texture plate. A little piece of my favorite Candy Lane Designer paper and tied with a the red gingham ribbon. I stamped the image on a larger piece of whisper white - colored it in with my copics and then cut the rectangle except for the little foot sticking out which I cut with my tiny scissors. Mounted on real red with stampin' Dimensionals.
This is the detail of the little girl colored in. Enjoy!

Pop Up Cake in pink pirouette

When you make the cake from the new pop up cake die from Stampin' Up they ask you to cut 3 7/8" strips of paper in addition in 3 different lengths. Using a 12" square paper and cutting the strips, there are 3 pieces of DD paper that I had to somehow incorporate into the card.

I moved them around and found this pleasing - I hope you do too. Waste not, want not.

Stamp the Lily of the Valley image from Ever After set in black on pink pirouette CS and color in with spica glitter pen in white and green to get that subtle sparkle- hard to see here, sorry! - then apply the DD paper scraps as shown. Place 2 little adhesive pearls- hero arts- on the connecting strip. Punch out eyelet border. Pierce paper and use dark green spica glitter pen to create faux stitching lines.
Mount on whisper white cardstock base.

The popup cake is cut from pink pirouette for the large and small layer and kiwi for the middle layers. Raspberry tart DD paper for the outside layers.

sentiment by PTI simple alphabet.

Happy Birthday to you- you know who you are!

My punch window sheet

I have a lot of punches- I have never met a punch I did not want to take home- although space is always the issue- and when one of my friends made a small ringed book with a punch on each card I thought it was a great idea until I tried to use it- I had to flip over bunch of different ones until I finally got to the one I wanted then if it did not fit, I had to flip over a bunch of other ones to find one that did- DROVE ME MAD!

You know about me and time!

so here is my little 2 cents worth punch template- I have 2 of these made from half sheet of cardstock- the middle ones had to be squeaked in by folding the paper some and getting it in the center- not that hard- then I laminated the whole thing - so the wrinkle from the folding doesn't even show.

Now I have this 2 little sheet that I just move around to see what fits the image I want- see the small tag with the bee? Just perfect!

Are the words too tall or not? Perfect! I keep these on my shelf and it takes up virtually no space and I keep grabbing for it all the time. Although now with the new punches coing out I think I am going to have to make a third one- oh well. The laminate keeps it clean and sturdy and this certainly is one of my favorite tools. Try it for yourself and see!
